My Cosmic Message Pty Ltd (ACN 652 358 159, ABN 30 652 358 159) trading as Asteris Commerce, based at Bullecourt Ave, Milperra NSW 2214, Australia, operates asterisforwoocommerce.com and the Asteris for WooCommerce plugin.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
When you purchase a licence:
- Name and email address
- Payment information (processed by Lemon Squeezy — we do not store card details)
- IP address at time of purchase
- Domain name associated with the licence
When you contact support:
- Email address
- Information you include in your message
- Domain and plugin version (if you provide them for debugging)
When you use the website:
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited)
- Google Analytics 4 page-level analytics (anonymised)
What Asteris for WooCommerce does NOT collect from your store: Asteris for WooCommerce runs on your WordPress installation. It does not transmit your customers’ personal data to us. It does not phone home with store data, customer details, or transaction records.
The only data the plugin transmits to external services is:
- Licence key verification (to asterisforwoocommerce.com, to validate your licence on activation)
- AI Suite requests (to your chosen AI provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter — using your own API key)
2. How we use it
- Purchase data: to deliver your licence key, process refunds, and send transactional emails (purchase receipt, licence expiry reminders)
- Support data: to respond to your support request
- Analytics: to understand which pages are visited and improve the site (Google Analytics 4, anonymised — no individual user tracking)
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
Lemon Squeezy: Payment processor. Handles card processing and licence key delivery. Subject to Lemon Squeezy’s own privacy policy.
Google Analytics: Anonymised website analytics. IP anonymisation enabled. No cross-site tracking.
MailerLite: Email marketing for customers who opt in to Asteris for WooCommerce updates and weekly posts. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
We do not share your data with other third parties except where required by law.
4. Data retention
Purchase records: retained for 7 years (Australian tax law requirement). Support emails: retained for 3 years from the date of the support request. Website logs: retained for 30 days. Analytics: aggregated, retained indefinitely.
5. Your rights
Australian customers: Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you.
EU/UK customers: Under GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@asterisforwoocommerce.com. We respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
The Asteris for WooCommerce website uses:
- Session cookies (required for the site to function)
- Google Analytics cookies (analytics, can be declined)
- Lemon Squeezy cookies (required on the checkout flow)
No third-party advertising cookies are set.
7. Security
We use HTTPS throughout the site. Lemon Squeezy handles PCI-compliant payment processing. Licence keys are stored hashed. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the data we hold.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the current version.
