What Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t do

Asteris for WooCommerce is a 19-module plugin for WooCommerce stores that stock, make, or source their own products. It’s built for considered-purchase stores — furniture, apparel, specialty goods, B2B, made-to-order.

If you’re building something outside that scope, you’ll know quickly what Asteris for WooCommerce can’t help with.

Dropshipping

Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t integrate with AliExpress, Spocket, AutoDS, DSers, or any other dropshipping supplier. It has no product import from supplier catalogues, no automated order routing, and no inventory sync with third-party warehouses.

For dropshipping WooCommerce stores, the right tools are Spocket ($29/mo+), AliDropship ($89 one-time), or DSers (free tier available with Shopify-focused features). These work alongside Asteris for WooCommerce’s SEO and other modules if you’re running a dropshipping store that also wants wishlist, PDF invoices, and product filtering.

Subscriptions and recurring billing

Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t have a subscription engine. No recurring billing, no dunning management, no subscription pause/cancel flows.

WooCommerce Subscriptions ($199/yr) handles this for WooCommerce. Asteris for WooCommerce co-exists with it without conflict — you can run WooCommerce Subscriptions for billing and Asteris for WooCommerce for all other modules.

Subscriptions are on Asteris for WooCommerce’s roadmap for consideration at v1.5. No commitment.

Sales funnels and checkout optimisation

Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t build checkout funnels, order bumps, upsell sequences, or A/B test checkout flows.

FunnelKit (formerly CartFlows) handles this. CartFlows is the fork. Both co-exist with Asteris for WooCommerce.

Memberships and restricted content

No membership tiers, restricted content by role, drip content, or membership renewal flows.

MemberPress ($179/yr) or Paid Memberships Pro (free + paid add-ons) handle memberships for WooCommerce.

Payment gateways

Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t add payment methods. WooCommerce’s built-in payment gateway options (Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer) and the WooCommerce Payments extension handle this.

Tax automation

No TaxJar, no Avalara integration, no automated sales tax calculation for multi-jurisdiction compliance.

TaxJar for WooCommerce or Avalara AvaTax handle automated tax compliance. Asteris for WooCommerce co-exists with both.

Shipping logic (carrier rates, table rates)

Asteris for WooCommerce has a Free Shipping Bar (shows progress toward a free shipping threshold) but doesn’t calculate carrier rates, table-based rates, or dimensional shipping.

WooCommerce Shipping (free) and WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping ($119/yr) handle shipping logic.

What Asteris for WooCommerce does do

19 modules: SEO, AI Suite, PDF Invoices, Variation Swatches, Wishlist, Quote Request, Back-in-Stock, Side Cart, Sequential Orders, Product Filtering, Min/Max Quantity, Asteris Links, Trust Badges, Free Shipping Bar, Stock Urgency, Delivery Timeline, Feature Labels, Product Badges, Analytics.

These plugins work alongside the tools listed above — Asteris for WooCommerce doesn’t compete with dropshipping platforms, funnel builders, or subscription engines. It fills the gap they leave.
